BLOOMINGTON, Ill. 鈥 Student groups, individuals, programs and advisors at Illinois Wesleyan University were celebrated at the annual Do Well & Do Good Involvement Awards on April 21.
Organized by the Office of Student Involvement, the event is named for the popular quote from former IWU President Minor Myers jr., 鈥淕o into the world and do well. But more importantly, go into the world and do good.鈥 Awards were granted to those representing the University鈥檚 multicultural, fraternity and sorority, academic and service organizations.

Director of Student Involvement Morgan Pulliam said these awards are especially meaningful
as the recipients are nominated by others in the campus community.
鈥淚t really shows the kind of community we鈥檙e building 鈥 one where people notice and
uplift the great work their peers are doing. It鈥檚 a reflection of the care, collaboration
and leadership we value so much here,鈥 said Pulliam. 鈥淓vents like this remind us what
the Titan experience is all about: being engaged, serving others and leading with
purpose.鈥
Dean of Students Karla Carney-Hall spoke at the event, noting that the skill of leadership can be defined in many different ways. One of her favorite definitions shows that leaders are collaborative, work with others and create a shared vision.
鈥淚 hope as you continue on your journey that you will examine and develop your own definition 鈥 one that guides you as you lead,鈥 said Carney-Hall. 鈥淎s we recognize outstanding leadership today, thank you for your influence in your RSO and the entire IWU community. Thank you for co-creating a more just, caring and thriving world. Thank you for building an outstanding IWU community.鈥
