Lighting Design
New to IWU, Courtney is excited to bring a wide variety of skills and experiences to Lighting Design and the Design Tech program in the School of Theater Arts. Prior to Wesleyan, Courtney worked as the Lighting Director for the New World Symphony in Miami Beach, FL, where they worked to bring new and exciting lighting designs to classical music. Notable projects there included Michael Tilson Thomas鈥檚 The Diary of Anne Frank narrated by Daisy Ridley, Seven Deadly Sins, and a dance piece produced in partnership with the Miami City Ballet called prohibido, as well as projects with a variety of rental clients including Ferrari, The Human Rights Watch, and YoungArts. Before New World, Courtney worked for the University of Texas Dallas as the Associate Technical Director. While there, they worked closely with students in the theater department as a mentor during production of the many shows and events in the UTD season. They also served as the Lighting Designer and Production Electrician for the Theater and Dance departments. Courtney has also designed for a number of companies in Dallas including Prism Movement Theater, Outcry, Cry Havoc, and Luna Lux.
